Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed in New York today for a historic state visit to the United States.
PM Modi, who has a tight schedule during his visit to the US, will meet top Indian American CEOs. After that he will lead the celebration marking the International Yoga Day at the UN headquarters on Wednesday.
This is PM Modi’s first state visit to the US. According to reports, PM Modi will leave for Washington DC soon after concluding the Yoga event, where the US President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden will host a private dinner.

The preparation is underway at Times Square ahead of International Yoga Day on Wednesday, with the aim to bring in the participation of more and more people in the event.
Notably, this year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the International Day of Yoga celebration at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
Speaking to ANI, Douglass Stewart, the co-founder of Yoga in Times Square said, “Yoga has its foundation in India. The principles have been around for thousands of years. It is interesting that the Western culture has started to adapt”.

India Deserves Higher Global Role And Profile: PM Modi
India deserves a much higher, deeper and wider profile and role at the global stage, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Tuesday as he embarked on a landmark state visit to the US, asserting that ties with Washington were stronger than ever. In an interview with The Wall Street Journal ahead of his first state visit, PM Modi also asserted that India was not “supplanting any country” and was aiming at gaining its “rightful” position in the world.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be meeting Tesla CEO and Twitter owner Elon Musk during his landmark US trip that begins today. The Prime Minister earlier met Musk in 2015 during a visit to Tesla Motors factory in California. Back then, Musk did not own Twitter.
The Prime Minister’s upcoming meeting with Musk comes at a time when Tesla is scouting for a location for its India factory.

General Electric may produce the GE-F414 jet engine in India, in a multi-million-dollar deal with Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL).
Jet engine technology is widely considered the holy grail of aviation tech. Manufacturing these engines in India will be transformational for the Indian airspace.
The GE-414-IN6 engine, when built in India, will power India’s indigenous Tejas Mk-2 fighter as well as the futuristic AMCA – or Advanced Medium Combat aircraft, a stealth fighter.
